既に開催から時間が経ってしまいましたが、11月4日（土）5日（日）2日間にわたり、インド北東部、アッサム州の州都グワハティにて、日本インドの交流イベント Assam Japan Gatewayを実施しました。このイベントの開催にあたって、私たちIndoboxも日本側の運営の一部として関与しており、もともとは昨年12月より少しずつ動き始めて、今回に至りました。
ニューデリー、ムンバイ、そして日本からも多くの方にご参加頂き、文化交流、ビジネスプレゼンテーション等さまざまなプログラムが実施されました。在インド日本大使館をはじめ、JETRO、JICA、国際交流基金、東京大学などより後援名義も頂き、スピーチや発表も頂きました。
また、岐阜大学からインド工科大学グワハティに留学している学生さんや、地元の大学生たちにはボランティアサポートで助けて頂きました。
アッサム州からは、州政府関係者の皆様や有識者、スタートアップからも非常に素晴らしいプレゼンテーションがあり、夜には北東インドの伝統音楽やダンスなどのパフォーマンスがありました。沢山のメディアも来られました。
当日の運営は、一部スムーズに進まない部分もありましたが、参加者の皆さんのご協力も得ながら何とか無事に終えることができました。これはアッサム州を含めたインド北東部と日本の連携のきっかけとなるスタートであり、ここから更に様々な連携や交流が生まれていくものと思います。
It has already been a little while since the Assam Japan Gateway, a Japan-India exchange event, was held in Guwahati, the capital of the north-eastern Indian state of Assam. Indobox Inc.was involved in the organisation of this event as part of the Japanese side of the operation, which originally started in December last year and finally finished this time.
Many people from New Delhi, Mumbai and Japan participated in the event, which included cultural exchanges, business presentations and a variety of other programmes. The Embassy of Japan in India, JETRO, JICA, the Japan Foundation, the University of Tokyo and others provided sponsorship and gave speeches and presentations. Students from Gifu University studying in India and local university students provided volunteer support. There were also very impressive presentations from Assam government officials, experts and start-ups, as well as a number of musical and dance performances in the evening. Lots of media also came. The Indian food for breakfast, lunch and dinner was all delicious, and it was impressive to see the Japanese people going back for seconds again and again.
Some parts of the day’s operation did not go smoothly, but with the cooperation of all the participants, we managed to finish the event successfully. This was the start of cooperation between north-east India, including Assam, and Japan, and I am sure that from here various further cooperation and exchanges will evolve.
